CITY'SCAPE AWARD&SYMPOSIUM

CITY’SCAPE begins, a two-day event dedicated to LANDSCAPE DESIGN that will showcase the most current themes at the Triennale di Milano. Over 40 speakers from 10 countries, including Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Croatia, Turkey, Denmark, China, Finland, and Italy, will participate in the eighth edition of the International Symposium and award "CITY’SCAPE - Landscape design as a strategy in climate change for urban and social resilience," scheduled for July 11th and 12th in the prestigious setting of the Salone d’Onore of the Triennale di Milano.

In the context of the current climate crisis and the challenges our society faces, landscape design emerges as a fundamental strategy for urban and social resilience. The landscape, understood as the combination of natural and human characteristics of a territory, represents an important tool to combat climate change and ensure the sustainability of our communities. Landscape design can offer innovative solutions to address these challenges, intervening both in urban planning and specific projects that contribute to maintaining or rebuilding healthy and resilient ecosystems. But landscape design is not only about safeguarding ecological aspects; it also concerns the well-being of urban communities. Well-designed natural public spaces promote socialization, physical activity, and mental health, fostering a sense of belonging and social cohesion. Moreover, enhancing the cultural and historical heritage of the territory through landscape redevelopment contributes to strengthening local identity and promoting sustainable and high-quality tourism. In conclusion, landscape design stands out as a key strategy in combating climate change and promoting urban and social resilience, creating more sustainable, livable, and inclusive cities and environments where nature and culture harmoniously integrate for the well-being of all inhabitants.
